A Better Me

I have been reading and viewing a lot of things on Spirituality. They all talk about the very basics which seem difficult to follow but like Sandeep Maheshwari says 'Aasan Hai'.

Live in the present moment. Accept things, people and situations as they are and Be aware are some of the takeaways.

One more important thing is to shift your focus from the external world to the internal world. Most of the times we are always looking out for happiness, pleasure etc from material things, relationships and experiences. We are always pointing what the outside situations should be like. What the desired outcome should be and how the other person should think and behave. Instead of focusing on outside why not shift our focus internally, within us. How do we make our internal world better. How do we make our lives better. How do we improve ourselves and how do we design out lives for better.

The next 1 month is going to be a beginning of this process of bettering myself and the whole goal of writing this blog is that it will stand as a promise and a reminder to myself to keep going. And this will be just a start. This is a life long process and I believe everyday you discover something new about your self and this beautiful thing called Life.

Who Am I?

You are not this body
Nor the mind
Neither the feelings
Nor the emotions
You are not your heart
Nothing belongs to you
Then Who am I?
The question arised
The silence spoke after a long time
'You are' is what it replied

Small Moments!!

Small moments.... In this fast paced world people rushing out, managing their daily chores tend to miss out on all the small moments of life.

A baby asleep in a mothers arm, an old couple regularly going out for a walk holding hands even after so many years of marriage, a kid waving out to an autowalah along with his mom. The rickshaw guy might not even notice those cute lil hands.
I remember how tough it was for me not to respond to a cute little angel across the street smiling and waving at me while I was in a meeting at CCD.

Small moments when someone praises your dad coz he quit smoking and drinking. Moments when for a change your mom falls asleep on you lap like you did on hers wen you were a child. These are just a few moments that happen in our everyday life. But people are so engrossed with their daily routine that they tend to lose out on some small but precious moments. Unhappy, busy, Whining and complaining they miss out on simple pleasures that happen around us. They miss out on NOW.

There are many small moments happening in our life, just that we don't notice them. So may be once in awhile instead of spending too much time on our phones, responding immediately to any notification we get, why not look around, who knows, you might see a special moment too.

The first smell of earth when it rains, the evening breeze when for a change Mumbai is cooler, watching the sunset over a sea face  the beauty of a full moon, when a stranger helps you for no reason, watching the clouds form cool shapes...for me the list is endless.
Small moments are nothing but Magical.

Happy to be sad

Life is too simple but we always tend to make it complicated. 1 broken heart. 1 bad incident. And we remain scarred for years. Aloof from others. With others but still without them. Social but anti-social.

Creating a wall so that no one enters it again. So that you don't get hurt again. Showing everyone that you don't care. Nothing hurts you cause you don't feel anything. Sentences that are repeated to yourself so you start believing in them while you are still hurting inside.

Makes me wonder, Why do people find comfort in sadness, unhappiness? After a period why do people start enjoying being that way?

We all have gone through this. Loved. Lost. Hoped. Cried. Are we hurt? Yes. Is there too much hatred? Yes. Nights of blaming yourself.  Blaming the decisions we made. Regretting them. And not to forget sleeping off with tears rolling down your eyes. May be we find comfort in that. But is this the right thing to do? Does this help the pain go away or do you give it more strength to grow.

Moving on and letting go of things are easier said than done. But Nothing is Impossible. They say time heals all the pain, but it is not the time, it is our effort of releasing ourself from the pain.

It is rightly said 'If you can't laugh at the same joke again and again, then why do you keep crying over the same thing over and over again?'

What you see is not always the truth

As they say 'Looks can be deceptive'. What you always see might not be the truth.
But what exactly is truth. 1 persons truth is the other persons lie.
eg. Is the glass half empty or half full?

Like in #znmd, Naseeruddin says 'Apne Apne Version hote hai'. Its all about perception.
There are many untold stories and incidents. Truth beautifully wrapped in lies. Covered with stories which people do believe in.

What you see/ believe/ experience is a reality or an illusion?
